Graphic Novels: Text to Text Connections

Task:
1. Think about your graphic novel and connect it to another piece of text (books, film, tv show, play, magazine, newspaper).
2. List the title of the text connection with the graphic novel.
3. Write roughly a 25-30 word explanation of the connection you made with your graphic novel and the title. (Do this for each graphic novel.)

In Amulet by Kazu Kibuishi it connects to Harry Potter and the the Philosophers Stone by J.K Rowling. These two books relate because in Amulet people have these stones that they wear. The stones control what they think, which causes them to act in a certain way. In Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone it is about a stone that allows people to make a drink to make them live longer. In both of the novels there is a stone that is controlling people’s lives.

  2. The book Maximum Ride connects to the book/movie I am Number Four. In the book Maximum Ride, the scientists from Itex are trying to kill her and the rest of the mutants in her flock, and in I am Number Four, John Smith is being hunted down by the Mogadorians, who are trying to kill all of the aliens from Lorien. They connect because in both cases, the protagonists are trying to get away from the antagonists who want to get rid of them.
The Hardy Boys #9 To Die or Not to Die?:
The book The Hardy Boys connects to the television show Whodunnit. In the book The Hardy boys, Frank is competing in a competition while trying to find out who is trying to eliminate the competition. In the television show Whodunnit, the contestants are competing in a competition to try to find out who the murderer is, and the murderer is one of the contestants that is getting rid of each character one by one. They connect because they both have similar situations where they are trying to win a competition while not getting eliminated.

The book Thoreau at Walden by John Porcellino connects to Fault in Our Stars by John Green. These two books relate because in Thoreau at Walden, Thoreau goes to live at Walden Pond and write there because that was his dream. In Fault in Our Stars, Hazel Grace goes to Amsterdam and meets her favorite author. In both of these books they are following their dreams.

The book Maximum ride #2 by James Patterson relates to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by Kevin Munroe. Like the flock, the turtles are mutant people who must hide from others or they will get caught. Also they are being hunted, just like the flock is. Finally both of the stories take place in New York city.

The graphic novel “Spring” by Mark Crilley connects to the book “The Giver” by Lois Lowry. They relate because in Spring the new boy named Hiro has a job and that is a deliverer. As a deliverer Hiro has to create many tasks about love and is not to tell anyone. In The Giver there is a job that is a deliverer also. As a deliverer in this book they have to deliver all of the memories from the past to the receiver and they are also not to tell any one about there work. In the two book there is a deliverer and both jobs require them to not share any of there work or they will get in big trouble and be killed or loose there job.

The graphic novel “The Call of the Wild” by Jack London’s relates to the book “Stone Fox” by John Reynolds Gardiner. They relate because in The Call of the Wild the dog Buck has to lead a team of dogs to find gold. In Stone Fox the dog Searchlight is leading his pack of dogs in a race to earn some money. Both dogs cannot back down because they both have a lot of pressure and responsibility on them.

Fahrenheit 451 relates to The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. This is due to the fact that both books take place in a future society with different ways of life and thinking from today. Panem sacrifices 23 children every year, while the world of Guy Montag burns all books. Both of these practices are not seen as normal in the United States.
Macbeth also relates to The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. Macbeth and President Snow both are power hungry and kill others to gain a higher, and eventually the highest, position. Eventually, both countries rebel and kill the illegitimate leaders.

"Maximum Ride volume 3"by James Patterson connects to the graphic novel, "Spring" by Mark Crilley. These book relate to each other because in "Maximum Ride volume 3", the kids go to a normal school and try to be regular teenagers. No one at the school knows what they are, so they have a mysterious past which is associated to "Spring" because Hero, the main character is a new kid at his school and he is hiding a secret about his job, and he is not allowed to tell anyone, and in maximum ride the kids can't tell anyone what they are.

The first graphic novel that I read, “Cat Burglar Black” relates to the realistic fiction book, “I’d Tell You I Love You But Then I’d Have To Kill You” by Ally Carter. The two books connect because in the novel by Ally Carter the main character Cammie Morgan goes to the Gallagher Academy for Girls where they are all undercover spies. In the graphic novel the same thing happens, K Westree gets sent to an academy for Girls where they are all undercover robbers. Even though both novels have their differences they both have the same concept which you could connect the two.

The next graphic novel that I read, “Foiled” relates to “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak. In both novels the main characters both feel misunderstood by people around them. Max in “Where the Wild Things Are” always wants to have fun while Aliera in “Foiled” always wants to fence. Both characters take the feelings to far and experience fantasy worlds. Max’s bedroom changes to the wild and when Aliera puts on her fencing max she sees a whole new made up world.

The graphic novel, "Fahrenheit 451" has a text connection to the novel, "The Wave." It connects to The Wave because in the novel, a class begins a club in the school to let everybody be equal. But, if a student refuses to join, some members bully the student, because they don't want to join. It relates to the graphic novel by if you are indifferent from society, they give you a punishment.

The graphic novel, "Maus" has a text connection to the novel, "Fever, 1793." It relates to the novel because in Fever, 1793 a deadly disease is spreading all in the United States, just like diseases were spreading in the setting of Maus. Though, there is no escaping the disease and very little doctors who will help treat it.

The graphic novel, Maximum Ride (MR), has a text to text connection with the novel The House of Hades (HOH) because in both novels people are racing to save their friends, or Flock member in MR, who are in grave danger.

The graphic novel, Artemis Fowl (AF), can be connected to the novel The City of Ashes (COA) by Cassandra Clare. The connection is that both novels is that the main characters both deal with the supernatural world of fairies. The fairies are both very sneaky and dangerous in the novels because of their ancient magic and can effect the characters badly.

He draws pictures of the Nazi officers, mocking them. He also runs away to live with the Maquis, a group in the woods who are against the Germans. In The Hunger Games, Katniss rebels against the capital. For example, Katniss and Peeta are the two people left alive in the games. However, the rules are changed and one of them must die. Jackie Robinson and Roberto Clemente both helped their team with amazing accomplishments and made their mark in history

The book, "Ravenpaw's Path Shattered Peace" relates to the book "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" by Ann Brashares because "Ravenpaw's Path Shattered Peace" Ravenpaw ignores his best friend because he is preoccupied by new cats, but in the end realizes his true friend is Barley. Like in "Sisterhood of the traveling pants" the four girls go their separate ways and forget about each other, but in they end they realize that they're best friends.

  25. The book Tom Sawyer can relate to another book called The Hardy Boys because in both of the books they go through a lot of time and effort to solve mysteries and end of solving them at the end. Also, they never give up when they are solving the mysteries.

The graphic novel "Call of The Wild," by Jack Londons relates to the movie "Balto" because in both the novel and the movie there is a sled dog team searching for something. In "Balto," Balto is the leader of his team and he brings back medicine for the sick people. In "Call of the Wild," Buck becomes the leader of his team (after killing Spitz) and they search for gold.

The graphic novel "Avalon High," by Meg Cabot relates the the legend of King Arthur because in the novel, Will is the reincarnation of King Arthur, Ellie represents The Lady of the Lake, and Marco, will's stepbrother is Mordred. There is also a movie for "Avalon High."

  27. The book Maximum Ride can relate to the show X-Men because like the flock, the X-men have mutated powers that helps them fight and helps them if they are in need of assistance. In the novel Twisted one of the four girls recently went through a divorce in her family and her mother is remarrying as well and doesn’t completely approve. Around the World by Matt Phelan
Around the World connects to the well-known novel Harry Potter. This may seem like a for off connection, but when you look into the smaller concepts we will discover that Harry Potter has characters setting off for adventure and face challenges within their exploration. Additionally, the characters in Harry Potter are separated from their families in order to fulfill their dreams, in Around the World the explorers’ part from their families and go forth to complete their dreams of traveling around the world. Therefore, Harry Potter and Around the World seem completely different, but with further emanation we will discover the relationship between the two.

I can connect the book “The Little Prince” by Joann Sfar to the book “Wonder” by RJ Palacio. They connect because in “The Little Prince” the prince comes from a whole other world and isn’t used to the customs of the people who live on earth. In “Wonder” the main character, August, has a facial deformity and in the past years was being homeschooled. Finally, when August becomes a fifth-grader he decides to go to a regular public school for the first time, and just like the little prince, he isn’t used to the customs of a regular school. Also, the little prince is treated oddly in the beginning by the man and August is shunned and treated oddly as well in the beginning of the book because nobody is used to how his face looks.

I can connect the book, “Prince of Persia” by Jordan Mechner to the book “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton. These books connect because in “The Outsiders,” the group of boys known as the greasers are being judged and being prejudice against. In the “Prince of Persia,” the group of people who are being sentenced, are being judged because they aren’t very wealthy. Since they aren’t wealthy, the judge automatically assumes that they stole all of those things.

This book relates to another book called, A wrinkled in time. In that book, a girls father goes missing and they go to find him. He turns out to be in a different world just like "Zita The Space Girl". These two books connect the most because they both include the same plot and involve space.

The book Solomon’s Thieves relates to the book The Outsiders. The book Foiled relates to the Percy Jackson series.

Solomon’s Thieves relates to The Outsiders because the Templars and the Outsiders are both social outcasts, frowned upon by society. They both also fight for their cause, to be equal with everyone else.

Foiled relates to Percy Jackson because they’re both about two regular school students who finds about an odd power, or ability. Aliera can see monsters, and Percy can control water being the son of Poseidon.

I think an appropriate book that connects with the graphic novel Maximum Ride(6) by James Patterson would be Flowers For Algernon by Daniel Keyes. I think this book is a good choice because in both books they genetically alter DNA. In Flowers For Algernon, Algernon the mouse is part of an experiment to raise IQ’s. The mouse becomes very smart. Also Charly Gordon is another test subject for this experiment. It makes him very smart. In Maximum Ride (6) the “flock” are part of an experiment. This experiment makes them human-bird hybrids.

For the graphic novel, Yossel by Joe Kubert, an appropriate film that connects with this book would be Schindler's List, Directed by, Steven Spielberg. I think this movie connects with this graphic novel because, they are both about the Holocaust. In the movie, Schindler’s List, a man named Schindler, hires jewish people to work for him. He saved the life of hundreds of people. In the book Yossel, it is also about the Holocaust. Both share the common characteristic of showing what happened in the terrible time of the Holocaust.

The book "Resistance" by Carla Jablonski and Leland Purvis connects to "Mockingjay" by Suzanne Collins. It does because in "Mockingjay" the districts form groups to revolt against the peacemakers, and eventually the Capital; and in the "Resistance" the main characters joined the resistance against the German occupiers

The book "The Wizard of Oz" by Michael Cavallaro relates to the book "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" by C.S. Louis. It does because in "The Wizard of Oz" Dorothy and Toto have to go on a long journey to Emerald City, and during that trip she makes many friends. They become friends with the cowardly lion, the brainless scarecrow and the heartless tin man. This relates to "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" because Lucy, Edmund, Susan, and Peter make friends on their various trips to Narnia; such as Tumnus a faun, and Aslan a lion.

Book 1 & 2 “A House Divided” By Marshall Poe “The Castaways” By Rob Vollmar

In the story “House Divided” two boys leave there family and go their own ways to help fight slavery. This book related to the graphic novel “The Castaways” when a young boy was told to leave his family behind and find work. These stories relate because it shows that we all make mistakes but those mistakes help us learn and grow closer to people. Also because when families struggle we may fight, but in the end family is all we have and we should not leave them behind no matter what.

  49. Solomon’s Thieves-Anne Frank’s Diary
I connected this book with Anne Frank’s Diary. In both cases, a massive number of people, millions more in Anne’s case, were falsely accused of crimes they didn’t commit, Jews were blamed for everything wrong with the world in case you're not a history buff, and the Templar’s accused of many crimes, one example being that they committed “Sodomy” with each other. Each case terrible, altho, in the Anne’s case, it is much worse.

    Fight For Freedom- Solomon’s Thieves
These two graphic novels connect very well, they both have a main character first escaping (slavery and arrest/jail) then returning to fight that evil government that permitted their suffering. In the graphic novel “Artemis Fowl the Graphic Novel” by Eoin Colfer and Andrew Donkin the essential question what is important in life plays a role in the story. For Artemis Fowl the most important thing in his life seemed to be becoming a master criminal but by the end Artemis revealed that the real thing that was most important to him was family. Furthermore Artemis paid a fortune to have one wish granted, so that his mother would become sane again.

In the graphic novel “Evolution the Story of Life on Earth” by Jay Hosler the essential question that was most important to the story, in literal meaning, is what is important in life? The story of earth in the novel is told from the perspective of an alien touring the king and prince of his plant through the story of evolution on earth. For example they go through exhibits about how humans evolved from apes.

In the graphic novel “Artemis Fowl the Graphic Novel” by Eoin Colfer and Andrew Donkin a fairy is held ransom by Artemis in exchange for gold. Recently two Americans were abducted by pirates and a suspected to soon be held ransom. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/25/world/africa/two-american-mariners-abducted-off-nigerian-coast.html?_r=0

In the graphic novel “Evolution the Story of Life on Earth” by Jay Hosler the character explain human evolution, but a recent discover have changed what we thought about human evolution. http://www.evolutionnews.org/2013/04/new_fossil_rewr070641.html

In the graphic novel “Artemis Fowl the Graphic Novel” by Eoin Colfer fairies are a huge part of the plot. Furthermore fairies have been described by many ancient cutlers and fairytales such as peter pan, where fairy are magical creatures who live in trees and enjoy music.

In the graphic novel “Evolution the Story of Life on Earth” by Jay Hosler the story of evolution is the plot. In the new movie After Earth all living things are evolved to kill humans. So they have evolved past the point where humans are dominate.

"Gothtek", the antagonist group, is a billion dollar corporation which is trying to take over the planet Norstoam. Will, also with his friends, fight a battle on an old bridge, and they too save their home. In both books, the main characters save their homes in a horrific battle.

The graphic novel "Sidekicks" relates to the book "The Lightning Thief", in both books the main characters train to be heroes 24/7, and later on get tired of it and sneak out to try to fulfill their destiny. In the "Sidekicks", Capain amazing has two pets, a hamster and a dog. Later that day, they are told their owner is looking for a new sidekick. the competition is immediate. The dog, trains himself and seems like a sure winner, but the hamster seeks out Captain Amazing's old sidekick, Manny, and makes a deal with him, Manny mentored the hamster until he was ready to apply for sidekick. 60. The graphic novel Maximum Ride (2) by James Patterson is connected to to the film Yours, Mine, Ours because in both there is a family with unrelated brothers and sisters. Both families go through struggles and get in fights, but they find a way to work together. In fact, the family in Yours, Mine, Ours most of the children were adopted or put with the other side of the family when the parents first got married. They get into a lot of fights with each other, but in the end, all the children work together to stop their father from going out to sea. Moreover, in Maximum Ride (2), the flock, or the unrelated family of half bird half human children, find something strange going on with Angel and they’re not getting along right with her. However, they still work with her and stay nice to her as they travel around in New York.

The graphic novel Thoreau at Walden by John Porcellino is connected to The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins because the main characters, Thoreau and Katniss, care for themselves and both dislike society. For example, in Thoreau at Walden, Thoreau lives about a mile away from his closest neighbor. Also, when Thoreau goes into town, he encounters society and finds out that he didn’t pay a tax, so he was sent to jail. He then decided that he didn’t like society. In addition, in The Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen takes care of herself because her mother is to depressed after her husband’s death to handle almost anything. Katniss also doesn’t like most society because people treat her and her district poorly.

The two graphic novels, Maximum Ride (2) by James Patterson and Thoreau at Walden by John Porcellino, are connected because the main characters in each book care for themselves. For instance, in Maximum Ride (2), the main character, Max, cares for herself while she’s is out trying to discover the truth about her origin. She doesn’t have a house, and she has very little money. Moreover, in Thoreau at Walden, the main character, Thoreau, lives all by himself in the woods. He plants his own food, and lives by himself.

I can relate "Outlaw The Legend of Robin Hood" by Tony Lee, to Rod Serling's "The Twilight Zone, Deaths-Head Revised" in that in both books have someone who is an outlaw or someone who breaks the Law. In "Outlaw The Legend of Robin Hood" Robin is an outlaw for the people stealing to help others. In "The Twilight Zone, Deaths-Head Revised" Mr. Schmidt is a retired Nazi commander and is an outlaw because of the killing he did when he was younger and broke the law a lot as a Nazi.

I think his graphic novel Star Wars Omnibus Boba Fett relates to th hunger games.I think it relates to the hunger games because Boba Fett is a hunter and so is Katniss.Although Boba is hunting to kill people for rewards and Katniss is hunting to kill animals to help her family survive, they are sort of alike they are both hunting for a reson and they both are good at it.In the end of both stories they both succeed and get rewards. The rewards that they get are also alike.Katniss got rich and famous.Boba got more rich and more famous.Overall i think these two books are very alike.

These books connect to each other for many different reasons. Night By, Elie Wiesel is about the Holocaust and how Jewish people were treated very poorly. I think the this book connects to The Merchant Of Venice because in the graphic novel the Italian men are mean and nasty to the man only because he's a Jew and that's what the people in Germany did to the Jewish people as well.

The Girl Who Owned A City: Mulan
I feel that this book has certain aspects that are closely related to the movie Mulan. This is because the main character in the book, Lisa has to act tough and stern, like a boy, to try to fit in and run the city. Just like Mulan, she wants to be a soldier and has to convince everyone shes a boy to fit in. Lisa in The Girl Who Owns A City has to put aside all her ladylike ways to do the best she can to run her city to the best of its ability. All in all, while the two things may have different plots the main characters, Mulan and Lisa are quite similar.

Ender’s Shadow, by Orson Scott Card, is a book about a boy named Bean who is born smarter than everyone else. Bean is an 11 year old homeless boy who lives in hellish streets of Rotterdam, during the time period of 2170. In the book, Bean is discovered by a nun, who realizes his capabilities. He is sent to an outer space battle school to train with other students. One of the first things that they are given there is is tablet with a game on it. The game is actually monitored when they play, to evaluate their skills; however, Bean sees through the whole trick. He suspects something, does his research and finds answers. This book is also similar to the book, “The Giver”. In this book, and boy is chosen to carry out certain training, and after, lead the people in his community. While he is going through all of this, he questions the ways he is being taught, asks his mentor, and finds his answers. This is similar to “Ender’s Shadow, because Bean does not just go through the motions. He does something about it. It is more though about what he doesn’t do. He never plays the game, but is never enforced to, because then it will prove his theory, and the secret will be let out. It both books, the main characters stand up for what they believe in, don’t just go through the motions, and make a difference.

In the book, “Prince of Persia”, a group of people are accused of a crime, that they did not do. They were all given a royal gift from the prince of persia, who is connected to all of them somehow. To the king, it looks like a crime. In the end, after everyone tells their story, they fight back and win. They are released, and aren’t punished. This is similar to the book, “The Thief Lord”. In this book, something is stolen from a group of kids, and is put on an island. When they go to retrieve it, they are committed to stealing something on the island. They end up escaping from the jail, retrieve what was rightfully theirs, and return home. These books are similar because none of the characters give up for what is right, receive their innocence, and all return and receive a fair outcome.

Text to text of Jane Eyre and The Eternal Smile:
Jane Eyre and The Eternal Smile take place in two very different time frames and have totally different story lines. Yet some similarities take place in the two books such as when Janet falls into a trap just like Jane does. Janet’s life has never really been good, she works somewhere she doesn’t like to, lives and is alone, and has nothing really to look forward to. Jane has also not has the best life, she was tossed around to a few homes, including boarding school. Then she went to go work for Mr. Rochester as a teacher for his daughter. They then fell in love and that is where Jane’s trap started. Both stories involve the two women falling in love and having to do many things they don’t want to in order to make that love exist. Janet has to give this person that emailed her a total of $4,500 because she thought he was a prince and she fell in love with him. Jane knew what she was doing with Mr. Rochester was wrong but she loved him so when they went to get married she found out he was already married to a mentally ill lady that he kept in the basement because she was crazy she knew she had to leave him. Then Jane was put into a tough situation of staying and becoming Mr. Rochester’s wife which for some reason she didn’t want to do after she found out about the other wife or leave the man she loves behind and never be happy again. Both Jane and Janet went to extreme measures to do something that they thought would make them happy in the end. Before both of their happily ever afters they were in a place where they realized that they had given so much up for things they would never get. Janet gave away a lot of her money so she could become the future princess of Nigeria when really all she gave it to was a guy who was trying to create a video game. Jane had to move away several times and change her ways so she would stay by her values and not be with the man she loved. In the end, Jane and Janet both gained perspective on the things they had been through, so they could realize that they need to do what makes them happy. Jane ended up marrying Mr. Rochester and having a baby and Janet quit her job and started dating the man that took her money and impersonated the Nigerian prince.

Downtown Boy- I can connect to Downtown Boy because like Juanito’s father, my dad travels a lot. My dad travels once or twice oftenly for work. Juanito’s dad travels to Mexico and all around the West Coast to find work. Juanito hates when his dad travels and disappears for long periods of time. There are some differences though, such as my dad is not gone for as long and doesn’t travel as much as Juanito’s father. Juanito’s dad is rarely home and takes long trips. I am ok with my dad’s traveling, unlike Juanito, who hates having his dad leave.Even though Juanito’s dad is never home, he still loves him. This supports the essential question, “What are the characteristics of love?”
Jump Ball- One connection I can make between myself and Jump Ball is with the character Jason Cohen. Jason is one of the hardest working players on the Tower High School basketball team but never gets any playing time. Jason may be as good as them but gets played over the the better players even if they slack off in practice and that get all the attention. I can relate to that in my sports as well. Sometimes my teammates and even I may really work hard to improve on a sport and the better players slack off and don’t care as much, yet the coaches still play those players more. This supports the essential question, “What are the characteristics of courage?”
    Text to World-

Downtown Boy- The verse novel Downtown Boy is similar to the classic book Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck. In both books the families are facing hard times. They have little money, no jobs, and at times no shelter. The family in Downton Boy keeps moving to new places so that they can find work and get money. They are always moving in order to keep making money. That is similar to Grapes of Wrath where they work as tenant farmers and also keep moving to find more work. Their hard conditions that they live in and how they deal with them are very similar.
Jump Ball- Another book similar to Jump Ball is True Legend by Mike Lupica. The main characters, Garrett James in Jump Ball and True Robinson in True Legend, are very similar. Both are high school basketball stars who everyone treats like royalty. They don’t try in school knowing they will easily get through college and make it to the NBA. They both think they have it easy until reality hits them and they realize they have to work hard to achieve their goals.
    Summary-
Downtown Boy- Downtown Boy is a verse novel by Juan Felipe Hernandez. This tells the story of a Mexican family who faces hardships and poverty but throughout everything, they still have a strong love.
Jump Ball- Jump Ball is a verse novel by Mel Glenn. This is about a high school basketball team and tells the individual stories of everyone on the team. It tells about Garrett James who is the star, Jason Cohen who always gets benched, Greg Hoskins who is the coach, and many other players. It also tell about their love for basketball and their perseverance to achieve their goals.

The story I read by Kazu Kibuishi, the “Amulet, The StoneKeeper” connects text to text with a book called “Escaping the Giant Wave”. In both books the kids are fighting for their lives while the older kid in each book is making the decisions that could be life or death decisions. In “Escaping the Giant Wave” the older brother Kyle has to watch over his younger sister during a earthquake, fire, and tsunami. Kyle is fighting through that while just wanting to back to his parents, just like in “Amulet, The Stonekeeper”. In that novel Emily has to watch over Navin through life or death situations as well. Just like in “Escaping the Giant Wave”, they are just trying to get to their parents alive and hoping to be alive as a family again.

Both of these story’s have a lot of action and excitement while the undercover men are doing their jobs. In “The Hardy Boys, Board to Death”, they have to watch out for all people that may have committed the crime, such as the skateboard people. I can relate this book to the T.V. show, Flight 49 Down. It is about teenagers whose plane crashed, so they are stranded on a deserted island. Everyday, they overcome a new obstacle whether it’s building a better shelter for them or finding a stash of food off a fruit tree. This is relates to This Broad Ocean because her plane also crashed while she was trying to achieve her goal. Additionally, her struggle helped her become a better person since she needed to be accepted in the aviation society where not many women flew airplanes at the time. This show reminded me of this book since they both involved them overcoming their struggles and how they both had a plane crash.

Furthermore superheros are like policeman. Both of these kinds of people help and save citizens. They keep all people safe. For example, in the superheros save people like in the movie '' The Avengers,'' in which they protect and save the world.
In the graphic novel ''Trickster'' the author writes about different things characters should not do. For example, cheating, bragging, or stealing. In the story the characters are like the bad guys because they don't do things the right way. The characters are tricky like the joker in ''The Dark Night,'' they trick people to get what they want.
