In the article it is saying that in the world our lives are controlled on the things we believe are true, the things we believe are false, and the things we haven’t believed as true of false. ReplyDeleteIn the graphic novel, Maximum Ride, a text to world connection is that on CNN their was an article, "Bullying among boys easily dismissed?", about how some people have been just dismissing bullying for boys because they think they're just being boys. Well the article just debates about how people have different opinions on the topic, but this current event connects to Maximum Ride because Ari, an Eraser, bullies one of the members of the Flock, Fang. Of course, Ari is much worse than a bully because he beats on Fang multiple times that should've killed Fang.
In the graphic novel, Artemis Fowl, a text to world connection is the current event about a ship that sank during Sandy, but its about a message in a bottle being found. When Jane was young and the only person taking care of her was her negligent Aunt she thought that getting sent to boarding school would be an excellent way to escape her cousins and Aunt. When she arrived she found it to be horrible, if not worse than being home. She didn’t have friends, things were never fun and she was always felt hungry and scared because she never became accustomed to the strict rules. Teachers constantly picked on her and other students and she found their methods of teaching and punishment not helpful and cruel. If Jane were here now she would say that boarding school was a traumatic experience for her and that it was not in any way helpful. He thinks that because his pool of money is not deep enough he needs more and more and more and he’s willing to do anything to get it. At the end he sees a very beautiful pond that he really wants, so instead of going back to his miserable life where nobody likes him anymore, he jumps through the window and bounces into the pond. There he doesn’t want or need money and he lives there reflecting on his bad actions that he took when all he cared about was money.

The graphic novel, "Coraline" by Neil Gaiman, relates to the film The Wizard of Oz. Coraline is very similar to Dorthy because they both have to use courage in order to accomplish something.
